NO WASTE
WORKING TOWARDS A BRIGHTER FUTURE
Due to confusion caused by federal court decisions, millions of miles of streams and tens of millions of acres of wetlands lacked clear protection under the Clean Water Act. As a result, water sources that feed drinking water supplies for 117 million Americans were vulnerable to pollution. So were wetlands that provide important flood protection and wildlife habitat. No waste is trying to clear up at least some of the water pollution.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
Water pollution happens when toxic substances enter water bodies such as lakes, rivers, oceans and so on. This degrades the quality of water.
Not only does this spell disaster for aquatic ecosystems, the pollutants also seep through and reach the groundwater, which might end up in our households as contaminated water we use in our daily activities, including drinking (Fridell 24).
Water pollution can be caused in a number of ways, one of the most polluting being city sewage and industrial waste discharge. Water pollution include contaminants that enter the water supply from soils or groundwater systems and from the atmosphere and rain.
WHO WE ARE
Here at No Waste, I am driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. Water Pollution is a big crisis that many people are trying to resolve. With just one of my solutions and solutions others have, water pollution won't be as serious as it is now.
